Terms of use
Effective from 2026-10-26
These terms set out how gimshe.lt and its services (Gimšė) may be used. By using Gimšė, creating an account or replying to an invitation, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Gimšė.
1. The service
Gimšė is a free online tool for organising children's birthdays: creating an invitation, collecting replies, making a wishlist and agreeing on a group gift. We also publish a list of places for children's parties.
The service is provided as is. We may change, extend or temporarily suspend it, for example during updates.
2. Accounts
Creating a party requires an account. Guests do not need one, but an account lets them see all their invitations in one place.
- Only adults (18 or older) may create an account.
- Give a correct email address and keep your password safe – you are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time by writing to us. Deleting an account also deletes the parties you created.
3. Parties and invitations
The person creating a party is responsible for the information and photos in the invitation and wishlist.
- By creating a party you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian, or have their consent to publish the child's name, age and other party details.
- By uploading a photo or invitation design you confirm you have the right to use it.
- An invitation can only be opened with its unique link and is hidden from search engines. However, anyone who has the link can open it and forward it, so share it with care.
- We recommend deleting the party afterwards – it takes one button.
4. Guests
When replying, a guest gives the child's name, the reply, the number of children and, optionally, allergy information. Only the parents organising the party see this.
A guest can change their reply or cancel an unconfirmed pledge at any time.
5. Group gifts and money
Gimšė does not receive, hold or transfer money. Guests who chip in transfer money directly to the organising parents using the details they provide.
- Gimšė is not a party to any payment and is not responsible for transfers, amounts, refunds or disputes between guests and organisers.
- A pledge is not a binding payment – it is an arrangement between the guest and the organiser.
- The organiser is responsible for giving correct payment details and for using the money collected for the gift.
6. List of party places
The list of party places is for information. We collect it from public sources – the places' own websites and maps – or it is suggested by visitors.
- We do not represent these places or provide their services; book and agree terms directly with the place.
- We try to keep information accurate, but addresses, hours, ages and other conditions can change – please check before your party.
- Place representatives can ask us to correct or remove information by writing to us.
7. Prohibited use
- Posting unlawful, offensive, discriminatory content or content that infringes others' rights.
- Using Gimšė for advertising, spam or deceiving others, for example by giving someone else's payment details.
- Trying to guess other invitation links, collecting data automatically, disrupting the site or bypassing its protection.
- Creating accounts in someone else's name.
If these terms are broken, we may remove content, restrict access or delete the account without notice.
8. Content and intellectual property
Content you upload (texts, photos, invitation designs) remains yours. Gimšė uses it only to show it to the guests you invite and to provide the service.
The site's design, logo, texts and code belong to Gimšė and may not be copied or used without permission.
9. Personal data and cookies
We process only the data needed for the service: account name and email, party details, guest replies and pledges. We do not sell data or share it with third parties for advertising.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data – write to us. You can also complain to the State Data Protection Inspectorate. See the Cookie policy for more on cookies.
10. Limitation of liability
Gimšė is a helper tool for organising a party. We are not responsible for the party itself, the actions of guests or organisers, the services of party places, buying gifts or transfers between users.
We are not liable for losses caused by temporary unavailability of the site or loss of data, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Changes apply from their publication on this page; we will announce significant changes on the site. By continuing to use Gimšė you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. We try to resolve disputes amicably – please write to us first.
Consumers may also contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (www.vvtat.lt). Unresolved disputes are settled by the courts of the Republic of Lithuania.
